Five-Star Hotels in Chetumal

Loved the location. Close to the bay and it's amenities. The staff was very kind, they even arranged for our dirty laundry to be picked up and had it back that same evening. The room was spacious and clean, and next to the pool which is a great looking one!

We really had a fantastic stay at Habitas Bacalar. The environment and architecture of this hotel are just stunning. From arrival to departure, we were also pampered by the staff. Not to mention our room. The deluxe tents are so comfortable and have more luxury than some hotel rooms. The outdoor shower is an experience apart. (Pay close attention to the lock on the door. The first night my husband & myself locked ourselves in the outdoor shower which required an adventurous climb to get back in through our front door ;-)). The bar and beach chairs are beautifully located at the lake, and we didn't miss a pool at all. The water is so pure and warm!

The location in the jungle, the architecture, the love for details, the creative spirit behind it all, the spa, the facial I got, the staff, ....

-The gardens, rooms, and docks were beautiful -Staff went out of their way to make our trip special -Rooms had everything you need (nice toiletries, robes, beach towels, etc) -Easy to get to/from town by taxi ($70/trip)

I had an amazing time at this property! The rooms were spacious and provided a great view of the lagoon. The balcony was amazing with a private pool and hammock. I enjoyed the restaurant and sun beds as well. The location of the hotel is great and very close to the town. The hotel staff was so kind and they helped us call taxi's to and from the property when we would head to town. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. I will definitely be back and recommend to anyone going to Bacalar!

Perfect place, nice huost Good room, good vibes, nice people

We arrived very early, 6am and the hotel were very accommodating and provided us a room straight away. We had booked a room with sea view. The wi-fi was not working upon arrival and shortly after checking in we were offered a room on a different floor, the WiFi was working on that floor but the view from the room was amazing. I woke every morning to watch the sunrise during our three day stay there. I would definitely recommend a room with view of the lagoon. See attached pictures of sunrise. The staff have a basic grasp of English and it was more than my Spanish but they were very helpful and where we couldn't understand each other we used Google translate. We had meals in the restaurant, the menu was changed whilst we were there and compared to other places nearby the cost was slightly cheaper. There is a small pool and some seating by the lagoon, it was nice to sit by the lagoon and watch the boats go by and also there was a bit of a breeze there. It was very hot and humid during our stay so the breeze was much welcomed. Our room was a good size, we had two double beds. The air-conditioning was much needed at some times to cool down and worked well. There is a smart tv although we didn't really use this much during our stay. Taxi was arranged for us to go to the bus station when we were leaving. Overall really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, it was a 20 minute walk to where we had arranged a boat trip of the lagoon and less than ten minutes by taxi to a supermarket. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay if we visited again.

Breakfast was very good! We loved our stay. The hotel is a unique design. Very modern, relaxing, the pool was nice to lounge in. Anyone with a mobility issue, this would not be a good place to stay. The rooms have stairs to the bed up in the loft. For us, we loved the cool design. There was a yoga platform that they will book a class with enough interest. You can workout in that same location on your own if you like. There’s green space behind the pool so it has a zen feel, in a natural setting. Town is a short walk away, you can rent a bike in town and explore from there. Lots of great restaurants Loved our time there and will return. This is a family run business which we loved, they have a vision and so far they are doing a great job!!!
