I wish we could’ve stayed 2 days there. I think there are lots of interesting hikes thru forests. We only had time to see a nearby waterfall. We saw northern light from the outdoor hot tubs.

We did the ring road while driving in Iceland and we booked seven places where we stayed. Out of these 7 places I have to say that Berunes was by far the best one. It was an amazing experience and the host is super friendly and helpful. But the reason why we liked Berunes the most was because it was a step back in time. The house where we stayed was built in the 1900s and the furniture is rustic but there are all the facilities needed. We are a family of four and we had two separate rooms and a private bathroom. Just next to the house there is a small church and also a restaurant. The restaurant was closed at the time of our visit, in April, but they will open it in summer. The landscape surrounding the hostel is also amazing. There is a lake in front of the house and the mountain at the back. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to relax and spend some enjoyable time in the middle of nature.

Ormurinn Cottages is located in Egilsstadir. Free WiFi access is available throughout the property.

The cottage has a kitchenette, flat-screen TV and terrace with BBQ facilities (available in the summer only). Egilsstadir Airport Is 2.5 km away. It was a very cute cabin with and amazing view at the lake.We had everything we needed for short stay,we could evening cook some dinner on the kichenette. It was also very reasonably priced compared to other cabins/apartment we stayed at on our Iceland trip

The washer and dryer were a plus!!

Undiraldan - Steinholt, old music school is situated in Seyðisfjörður. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 3.8 km from Gufufoss. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. The house was vintage style decorated. It is very spacious and cozy. We also saw aurora lights just outside the house. It was a very pleasant stay.

The property has lake and garden views, and is 45 km from Kirkjufoss. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Very confy room with a great view, perfect if you plan to visit Hengifoss and/or the Vok baths. The kitchen was perfect and everything was extremely clean.

The house has several good points, including house is quiet and clean, shower water is strong enough, having free parking space beside the house. However, it would be convenient when providing a washing machine.
