The hotel arranged everything for us, pickup and transport and tours with guide. The hotel arranged everything had a very chill vibe with great views and lots of areas to relax and enjoy a quiet moment. The food was thoughtfully made and when we were going on tours, they packed very nice sandwiches for us.
El Remate
Set in El Remate, 35 km from Tikal National Park, Posada del Cerro offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. The place is away from the village in a lush greenery and we loved it! Service was super friendly and fast. They even helped us with the transfer to Tikal and back. Our double room was simple but big, with a big terrace with chairs and a hammock to relax and enjoy the greenery / to read etc. Bed was comfortable and had a decent mosquito net. They have a decent menu so we seldom ate breakfast there or had some drinks. The hotel is a walking distance from El Remate so we also walked to visit some restaurants or tienda for some snacks when we wanted to. My favourite thing for sure was the fact it's a little away and in the greenery, little hidden gem. Because it's close to the bioreserve, it was wonderful to hear the sounds of nature and especially have our first experience with howler monkeys howling 🙂 I would recommend it for sure.
Flores
Zapote Tree Inn is located less than 16 minutes from Flores' airport and 4 minutes away from Flores island by boat, located at a privileged point to appreciate sunsets and sunrises overlooking the island and the lake. Amazing place. Beautiful property, and only 3 min boat ride to Flores. Lots to see in San Miguel also. Total relaxation. The hosts were fantastic. Special mention to Eric, who got up in the middle of the night to ferry us to meet our tour to Tikal and also to bring us to the airport.
El Remate
With garden views, La Lancha by Francis Ford Coppola is set in El Remate and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. This place is so beautiful and relaxing that it's hard to even put the experience into words. The attention to detail is truly remarkable. Inside the room, you'll find everything you need and even more. A funicular takes you down to the private marina, where you can enjoy paddle boarding or simply jump into the lake for a refreshing swim. The temazcal sauna was an unforgettable experience; deeply relaxing and unique. I’d especially like to thank the staff for making my birthday so special with thoughtful room decorations and a surprise cake. Every moment here was filled with care and magic.
Flores
Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Bolontiku Boutique Hotel Member of the Cayuga Collection is located 15 minutes by boat from Flores Island. This modern hotel is situated right on Peten Itza Lake and offers free Wi-Fi and breakfast. Incredible hotel on the lake with stunning views, facilities, and lovely staff. We’re a British couple in our late 20s and it’s one of our favourite hotels that we’ve ever stayed in. There is a shuttle boat that runs from the hotel to Flores island which is a pretty cool mode of transport. Few things we particularly liked: - The staff are accommodating offering great excursions (Tikal was the tour we did and enjoyed) and were very welcoming, particularly given our Spanish was very poor - the food at the hotel is really good, nice touch preparing the breakfast boxes too when we had early departures from the hotel - good drinks options too (beers and cocktails the highlight from our side, wine was expensive but that’s to be expected) - there are kayaks and pedalos free to use too which were a nice touch. - the room is stunning with beautiful views, good TV, impressive bathroom

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Flores Island. We had. Room with a lake view which was perfect and the beds were super comfy. Air con wasn’t working. It the hotel proactively refunded some of the cost of our room.
The Lake Views. The Tranquility. The sounds of Monkeys at Night. The hosts were Lovely, the Entire Family that runs this Casa Familiar. The boat rides every day into Flores were also my Favorite!!!
Great people . It’s a Family house , the vibe is chill and comfortable. Always friendly and with a smile.
I am so glad my child was not exposed in this hotel to the kind of party animal travelers that I witnessed in the more hip area of Flores! It was nice being able to control our own air conditioning. The owners are very nice.
I can say that it is one of the most comfortable hostels on the island of Flores. The staff is very helpful. I forgot my wallet with money, and the staff saved it for me and sent it to me where I am now. The design is interesting and fun. The prices of the tours are excellent. I would surely return
Modern facilities, they offer you a good breakfast, they offer you tours at affordable prices, they offer you privacy in the rooms with curtains. They have a small pool to cool off in your afternoon. I was at the Los Amigos hostel and I changed to this one because of the good comments and it is definitely worth it.
We had a pleasant stay during our Tikal visit. Note that the property is in the middle of the jungle and normal standards cannot apply. The pool may not meet the highest expectations, but has a beautiful jungle setting and will perfectly cool you down after/during a hot day. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were good with functional moskito nets in place. Staff was kind and attentive. The hotel including the restaurant were surprisingly good and affordable given the rather isolated location.
Beautiful untouched Guatemalan "pueblo" vibe" with so many friendly locals and very accessible options for immersing yourself in nature and doing outdoor activities. Bonus--amazing tacos and beautiful sunset docks/huts. Felt very welcomed and relaxed with family-style dinners and options for fun excursions. Flexible check-in and check-out. Rich saved our trip to the morning tour of Tikal because we had been issued a scam and he was so attentive to any needs of his guests.
