Patricia was a great host, extremely helpful and friendly. I had a very warm welcome. There were tea, coffee, cereal and toast available in the front room with a spectacular sea view. This is a comfy room with TV and a fireplace.

Pristine accommodation. Spotlessly clean, immaculately constructed, very impressive. Care in detail with everything a guest would need. Highly recommended! Sandra provided fantastic suggestions for the area as featured in a very informative ensuite book. I indulged in the Kilkullen Seaweed baths 20 min away, incredible. Staying at Markree Castle was definitely the highlight of our 3-week trip around Ireland. We felt so fortunate that we decided on Markree after conducting meticulous research on Irish castle stays. It was our first time staying in a castle and we felt like royals! We loved exploring the historical castle, and there was even more to take in than we expected - from a great number of beautifully decorated rooms and spaces to the abbey and the lovely grounds. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and all the staff were most kind and helpful. Our room was very elegant, clean and had a nice view as well. Our stay was magical and didn't lack a thing!

Our room was quiet, with a small view out to the ocean (only just, but it was enough). The rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. The included breakfast was basic, but was nothing to complain about - it was nice enough and did the job.

I loved the scenery and location of the property. Plus Miranda is an incredible host, who really cares about her guests comfort. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling in Ireland in a heartbeat, as a must to stay at. I have done a lot of travelling and I have yet to meet a host who is as kind as Miranda.
