A perfectly located hotel with a great atmosphere, restaurant and most importantly a bakery that will add the right dose of deliciousness to your trip. Although having a sink right when you enter, the room is super comfortable and a perfect place for winding down after a day of sightseeing. I must add the elevator music select is impeccable, something that most hotels neglect.

The owner is very approachable, he goes the extra mile of asking how we are and offering a space for our luggage in case we would want to leave it if we need to travel around the area. Breakfast is available free of charge -toasts, cherry tomatoes and spreads. Coffee and tea is always available as well. Japanese breakfast is offered for an extra charge but we did not avail it. Room amenities were complete as well, there even is an extension available.

I stayed at this wonderful ryokan during my trip to Kyoto, and I’m still deeply impressed! This is a truly authentic Edo-period style ryokan, with a serene and cozy atmosphere that beautifully preserves Japanese tradition. Everything—from the interiors to the hot baths—radiates a deep respect for cultural heritage.
I want to especially thank the staff. I accidentally left a valuable piece of jewelry in the bath and had nearly accepted that it was lost. But the staff not only found it—they contacted me and kindly mailed it to my hotel in Tokyo. I was genuinely touched by their honesty, care, and attention.
This place became more than just accommodation—it became a special memory of my journey in Japan. I will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly Japanese experience and heartfelt hospitality. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
