I stayed at this hotel for one night after returning from a business trip, before flying out to Paris. I couldn’t have chosen a better place — the room was superb: beautifully furnished, comfortable, and spotless. The bed and linens were perfect, offering a great night’s sleep.
The staff were exceptionally kind and spoke excellent English, which made everything even easier.

The price is high, but you can expect a lot. The hotel rooms were great. You could choose if you prefer to sleep in big comfy western beds or prefered a Japanese futon instead (there were two rooms, so enough space to get the futons out).
Maybe prepare a bit in advance, so that you know what´s going on, because the English introduction at reception is a bit shorter than the Japanese one, but the staff is always really helpful and can answer your questions.
Breakfast and diner were both included and were fantastic. The sushi cook in the evening was so helpful and we tried 2-3 different sort of fish we never had before. And all the other dishes were great, too. Don´t forget to stop in time, so that there is still room for dessert ;o)
The onsen on the roof is wonderful. You have an excellent night view and can see the beautiful harbour area. There is an onsen for women and one for men. First there is a big room where you undress and put your clothes in little baskets. Then there is a shower room followed by a pool, a whirlpool and the lovely onsen.
And if you want to spend around 200 Yen extra, don´t forget to visit the room with the massage chairs. They are amazing.

The location is great, in a nice neighbourhood with supermarkets and convenient stores on the way from the train station. Many other food options as well. The bed was also comfortable.

Great hotel, great location, close to the city center and many attractions. I enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and the sea view.
The breakfast was excellent. I travel a lot but I think that the breakfast in Kobe´s Meriken Park Oriental Hotel was the best I´ve ever had.

It’s a very nice and clean hotel that has a modern bathroom. They also provide bath salt for use which is great to be able to relaxe after a long day of walking. There is also a conbini right across the street.
