Hotels in Baisha Old Town, Lijiang

Very friendly and helpful hotel operators with lots of tips for hiking routes. Both Chinese and English is spoken. The hotel is located 30 meters from the main shopping street but still absolutely quiet. Clean rooms. It was a very pleasant stay. Baisha as one of the 3 old towns of Lijiang is the ideal starting point for hikes into the Yulong Mountains and yet not far from Lijiangs historical old town.

Really great hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff and clean rooms. The owner Joy will help you with anything you need and give recommendations for travel plans. Have decided to return in a few days because we liked it so much.

First, let me talk about the service—it was excellent. The owner came out early to greet us at the entrance and even helped with our luggage. They also gave us great tips to avoid tourist traps. Knowing our group was large, they proactively upgraded our room. As for the amenities, the room had a bathtub—something many places don’t offer—along with a huge, very modern bathroom. The drinking water system was advanced, and both the air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. Even the mirror had built-in lighting! The stay was incredibly comfortable. The location was also ideal—right in the ancient town. For those who enjoy exploring local markets, it’s super close to Zhongyi Market, making it convenient for early morning outings. Lastly, the price was unbeatable! (Oh, I almost forgot to mention the courtyard—it had such a charming vibe, exactly my style. Sadly, we only stayed one night.) I’ll definitely choose this place again next time I visit.

I am very particular in choosing a place to stay for our travel. One of the owners, Arlin has been very active in communicating with me through email and wechat, answering all of my queries and requests. So that little act of service helped to convince me to book them. They offered a free pick up service from train station and they also has a porter service to help you carry your luggage all the way to your room. Upon arrival, i was super stoke because the hotel is exactly how they advertised in the website. They offered a bit more contemporary design while staying true to the traditional theme. We were greeted warmly with tea and i guess only the owner can converse in english but the workers arent. But despite the lack of english, we made do with translation app. Our room is spacious and clean with no speck of dust, our balcony is facing the old town street and literally you can just go out from the hotel and immediately shop. The hotel also very modern in a sense that they have a control button for their curtain anddd i cannot stress this enough, they HAVE AUTOMATED TOILET WITH THE FREAKING HOLY BIDET AND DYSON HAIRDRYER. Being a Malaysian, having a bidet is a must so to my fellow Malaysian traveller, im vouching for this hotel. Their toilet paper is 4 ply. They also have washer + dryer machine located at the ground floor, free to use, so another plus point there. I washed my clothes everynight, and then hang out with the owner while waiting for my laundry. They offered free breakfast, but seeing we are muslim, he switched the local breakfast with pastries instead. They always prepared free candies, local fruits and tea at the receptionist which i always took whenever i went out. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, it is very near to the main road, the iconic water wheel and dashi bridge. The attentiveness and care they provided for their guests, answering every questions no matter how silly they sounded, has really won it for me. Will come again!

I really enjoyed my stay here! Joye is super helpful he helped us with our luggage from south gate of the old town. He also help with all kinds of other advice for your stay. We can do the laundry there which is so nice.

Great location, very easy to take DiDi to go anywhere,there was a beautiful garden view in public area, the room was spacious and comfortable with soundproof glass windows, especially the service there was very nice, they were all kind hearted, gave me great assistance with my trip

His dedication to providing exceptional service truly made our stay memorable. He was incredibly helpful, considerate, and responsible, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. From recommending great local restaurants to arranging attractions and promptly handling our luggage, Mr. He made us feel right at home. The location of the hotel is perfect, as it is just a short walk from the picturesque old town, making it easy to explore the local culture and history. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, we highly recommend Lijiang Gemmer Hotel for anyone visiting the area!

Frida's very accommodating to our needs. She went out of her way to help us with various matters, including helping with organising pickup from and dropping off at the railway station. The accommodation is in the ancient Lijiang area, within close walking distance to the ancient Lijiang town.

The guys did a great job. The staff were outstanding, welcoming and handled a small problem in the first room very professional and upgraded me immediately to make it up. They were constantly in contact with me via WeChat to ask if everything is fine. If you arrive at the ancient city they will pick you up to carry the luggage. Breakfast is convenient and location fantastic. The bed linen is amazing. The pillows are so soft. They are really nice here. They help you with washing your clothes.
