The staff were so kind and accommodating, and truly tried to go above and beyond for their guests. Every time we came back to the hotel we were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome back and ushered into the warmth and comfort of the reception area. Breakfast was exceptional and beautifully presented. The hotel also arranged for our luggage to be sent to our next destination which was extremely helpful as it meant we didn’t have to worry about storage lockers during our visit to nearby Shirakawa-go. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we’d be beyond delighted to come back.

Het Sumiyoshi Ryokan ligt op slechts 1 minuut lopen van de populaire Miyagawa-ochtendmarkt midden in Takayama en biedt huiselijke accommodatie in Japanse stijl in een historisch herenhuis. Everything! The owners are so sweet! They gave us matcha tea when we arrived! The ryokan is stunning! Amazing decoration in every single place! We love the onsen! Everything Is extra clean and tidy! I told one of the owner (lady) it was really cold outside and when we get back to the room was blankets and the kettle ready to drink our tea! (In the room was before ready tea pot and cups). I forgot my necklace in the room and the owners send me a messenge but I was already in Tokyo for the next day take flight to get back home. They were amazing and send to me the necklace to Australia !

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. everything was perfect and exciting. if I can suggest a small "sweet" breakfast for western tourists :)

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Het is een heel mooi hotel. Esthetisch en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Het personeel is aardig en zeer behulpzaam. Wij hadden een ruime tot grote kamer (suite). Heerlijk. De locatie was ook heel goed.

Het stijlvolle AKARI et KAORI, voorheen Taizanso, is ontworpen door Shinji Kagawa en ligt op 10 minuten rijden van het treinstation Shuzenji. We were the only ones at the ryokan because it was off season so we had the entire onsen to ourselves. Food was also very good

The Meitetsu Grand Hotel offers bright rooms with free WiFi, 3 restaurants and a sky lounge café with panoramic city views. Locatie - bus station in het zelfde gebouw. Family Mart en groot warenhuis zijn ook in hetzelfde gebouw. Receptie staf Sunil was heel behulpzaam en zeer informatief; waarvoor dank.

Great location. Convenice store outside the hotel. Restaurants abound in the area. A short 15 minute walk to Nagoya station. Staff are very helpful and accommodating.

Het Chaya Hotel ligt op slechts 40 meter van Magome-Juku, een gerestaureerd poststadje uit het Edo-tijdperk. Het biedt eenvoudige traditionele kamers met futonbedden en tatami-matten op de vloer. Beautiful place with friendly staff, great value and a very good dinner.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Fantastisch verblijf in een authentieke ryjokan. Zou deze plek iedereen aanraden. Personeel is heel vriendelijk, kamers zijn schoon en ruim. Het is er stil en de onsen is puur genieten!
