A Dreamy Tuscan Villa Stay – Highlight of Our Italian Road Trip This villa was the absolute highlight of our Italian road trip. Nestled among cypress-lined pathways, its entrance alone sets the tone for a serene and picturesque escape. Surrounded by its own vineyard and olive orchards, the property offers breathtaking views and a true taste of Tuscany. The restaurant overlooks the sunset, making every dinner a memorable experience. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are generously sized, adding to the comfort of the stay. One of our favourite features was the pool set amidst olive trees—a peaceful spot to relax, read, and watch the kids play. The pool is open from morning to late evening. I was able to swim quite a few laps as well. With fewer rooms than large resorts, the atmosphere is calm, clean, and never overcrowded. The villa produces its own wine and olive oil, and the staff are incredibly polite and courteous. A special mention goes to Giona, who went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for my husband’s 40th birthday. The food was outstanding—freshly prepared and full of flavour. The pasta with tomato and aubergine was hands down the best we’ve ever had. For a potato lover like me, the roast potatoes were amazingly seasoned and soooo good. We tried every dessert on the menu, and each one was exceptional. Their house-baked biscotti was a lovely treat too. Breakfast was just right—a mix of sweet items, boiled eggs, cereals, cheese, bread, coffee, and juices. It was perfect for making a quick sandwich and starting the day without needing to venture out early. Our kids especially loved the sweet options! The villa’s location also makes it easy to explore nearby towns like Montepulciano and Siena, which is just about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. This stay was everything we hoped for and more—peaceful, scenic, and full of warmth. We would return in a heartbeat.

Il Palazzetto ligt in Montepulciano, op 48 km van Mount Amiata en 5,2 km van Terme di Montepulciano en biedt uitzicht op de stad en gratis WiFi. Ruim appartement op een gunstige ligging in een fijne stad. Host was zeer vriendelijk en contact vooraf was ook goed. Parkeergelegenheid in de buurt. Wij kwamen aan tijdens festiviteiten in de stad, waardoor het iets lastiger was te parkeren (drukte en daardoor niet gratis) maar daar zul je normaal gesproken geen/minder last van hebben, we zagen na het weekend genoeg (gratis) opties. Ontbijt is in een café/restaurant aan de overkant van de straat, waar je een aantal items mag bestellen. Niet een groot buffet. Maar kwaliteit was zeer goed en voor ons goed om de dag mee te starten. Aanrader, wij komen graag weer terug.

Drogheria e Locanda Franci ligt in Montalcino, in het hart van de Val d’Orcia. Het biedt kamers en een privévilla met gratis WiFi, een restaurant en een terras. Beautiful cosy little hotel at the edge of the old city ner the Fortezza parking. Actually I wanted to book in Montepulciano but there are no properties that come even close to this one in Montalcino. Very friendly staff immediately meets every wish, very good breakfast.

Clean, beautifully decorated, quiet in good location and very comfortable. Breakfast is offsite in a trattoria owned by same group but very generous portions and made to order - much better than the usual buffet breakfasts. Free public parking nearby. Great value for what you get!

Hotel Vecchia Oliviera is gelegen in het historische centrum van de stad Brunello en staat naast Porta Cerbaia, een van de zes oude poorten naar de stad Montalcino. Hotel is zoals de foto's het weergeven. Super ruime kamers en zeer netjes. Het uitzicht is gewoon fantastisch, kan niet beter. Hotel ligt buiten de traffic zone en binnen 5 minuten ben je in het centrum. Plaatsen zoals Pienza is 15 minuten rijden en Montalcino is omringd door prachtige wijngaarden en olijfgaarden. Parkeren is bij het hotel en afgesloten, super geregeld. Ontbijt en het personeel was gewoon top.

Castel Brunello ligt te midden van het Toscaanse platteland en beschikt over een buitenzwembad en een tuin. Deze accommodatie met eigen kookgelegenheid is voorzien van rustieke meubels en gratis WiFi.... Great location. Amazing views. Room. Facilities .

Antica Sosta bevindt zich in San Quirico dʼOrcia, op 39 km van Mount Amiata en 44 km van Piazza del Campo, en biedt accommodatie met voorzieningen zoals gratis WiFi en een tv. It should be 20 points! A great place, a fantastic breakfast! We will definitely come back!
