The classical-style rooms of the Hotel Am Jägertor feature fine materials, air conditioning, and modern bathrooms. Some rooms have a balcony. The room was lovely, smelled really nice and welcoming. The hotel provided Nespresso capsules or high end tea facilities in the room. The bathroom was welcoming and the shower was excellent. Beds were exceptionally comfy. Breakfast was excellent with fresh ingredients though came with a steep Eur 21 per person. The hotel provides parking again at a Eur 20 charge, but considering it's Potsdam, it's OK. The hotel is situated at one of the gates just outside the old quarter with nice boutiques, restaurants or great bars (Fritzen ought to be on the visiting list if one likes quirky bars).

This 4-star hotel is a traditional 19th-century tower villa, a 3-minute walk from Potsdam's Sanssouci Palace. It boasts an idyllic hilltop location, wonderful views, on-site parking and a charging station for electric cars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a tea kettle. Loved the place and felt like in a fairytale!
