The hotel was centrally located in the historic area of Saintes, had a lot of charm, lovely ambiance, beautiful old charentais building, warm and friendly check in staff. Very close to shops, bistros, creperies, pizzeria, cafes, museum, church and market square (3-4 min walk) and a minutes walk down to the Charente and the Jardin Public. Our room was spacious, very clean, had everything we needed including hairdryer, coffee/tea, kettle etc. Bed was large and comfortable, plenty of plug sockets for charging appliances, windows overlooking quiet passageway. Shower was good. Downstairs, there was lots of space and a computer in case you wanted to do research on local places to visit, and the reception staff were very helpful. Reception closed at 9pm but we were given clear info on how to access the hotel after hours. If I was returning to Saintes, I would not hesitate to stay again at the Cit'hotel les Messageries.

Very old building but beautifully done up with interesting objects d’art. Breakfast was excellent quality , attention to detail, generous and quite a lot of choice. Yogurt and cheese particularly welcome. The hosts were very friendly and recommended wonderful restaurants!

Everything! Well located, 15 minutes walk to the old center of Saintes, very quiet. The room we had was in the hosts' house who were very friendly and welcoming. Comfortable bed, very tastefully decorated room/house and great home made breakfast. Don't hesitate to book there!
