Equally wonderful excursions can be found along the border at the ruins of ancient Penjikent and the surrounding Fann Mountains. Tracing the Pyan River south from Khorog, the Wakhan Corridor is sprinkled with picturesque villages, ancient shrines and crumbling castle ruins. The corridor runs right up to the border so it’s possible to cross into Afghanistan and explore the Wakhan from the other side. It is a very comfortable and clean hotel with an extremely helpful staff. Comfortable bed, big room and good bathroom. They pick you up at the airport call a taxi during your stay and also brought me to the airport on my departure day. Excellent value-for-money choice.

Great place! Great and very convenient location! Great staff! I made a mistake at the airport and took the wrong suitcase, it was very late at night and I did not have local currency, but the manager Ali called me a taxi, explained what to do and gave me money for the trip there and back!!! He helped me out a lot!!! Thank you very much!!! I wish you prosperity!!!

Hotel Atlas is really nice - from the free airport pick-up to fast and easy check-in and room being ready early it was a great start! Relatively quiet area slightly east of the very centre so we used taxis a bit - the front desk will always call one and explain to the driver where to go - and will also set you up with the best local ride-sharing app.
Very good selection at the included breakfast buffet.
