I was raised in Eunice and am disappointed in what it has become. It is dirty and has a lot of poverty. There are few hotels and none of them are really desirable. There is a lot of Cajun culture there and the people are friendly.

Breakfast was okay but lacked fruit juice and variety. No decaf.
Booking.com put us in a smoking room and staff cheerfully moved us to a nonsmoking one. (The smoking room really stank.) Outstanding, hospitable customer service. They let me vent about awful experience the night before at New Iberia Days Inn. I appreciated that.

The office area was nice and check in went OK but the office closes early and doesn't open till 10 am.
