What a beautiful, historic, charming town that most people have never heard of! One of Slovenia's best-kept secrets! I took the ferry from Piran to Venice, which is why I came here. But I wish I could have stayed a few days more to fully explore the area, which is absolutely lovely!
Piran is a beautiful town to visit. The view of it from the Walls of Piran is stunning. Great places to eat and some lovely beaches for swimming. It is quite small, so can be done quite quickly, but there are some great marked walks around the area along the coast with stunning views across to Izola and Trieste... Portoroz on the Southern side of the headland has a really nice beachfront.
It was a lovely city, but you must be able to walk steep hills to get there or take bus. A lot of walking and no parking, as with most cities. The beach is rocky, so you would want water shoes. It's totally on the peninsula. Bus into town is 1 Euro from the cemetery downhill from the property we stayed at, but limited schedule.
Great town to explore, enjoy the walls, Tartini Square, swim in the Adriatic, take a walking tour with a wine and olive oil tour. And, if you like, there's a ferry to Venice, an easy trip to Trieste, or even take a trip into wine country. But if you just want to stay still and enjoy the pace and charm of the city, you won't be disappointed!
Liked · A bit difficult as I had a different SIM card in but the messages were not going through to my new number. Once the host and I figured this out, it was easy to access. Great location, very central and close to all that you want to see. Disliked · While there is air conditioning in the main rooms, it didn't quite reach the bedroom. My partner and I love a cooler bedroom so it was a bit warm for us.
we were glad we didn't stay in the town itself. We were looking for a relaxed couple of days after a busy time in Bovec and Bohinj. Staying a little out of town and heading to Strunjan for the day was great.
A very cozy apartment, thoughtfully designed to provide everything you need for a comfortable stay, including cooking. It has a lovely terrace and windows with a sea view, perfect for watching sunsets. The location is excellent - close to restaurants and all of Piran's must-see attractions. Parking is a huge bonus considering the difficulty and cost of parking in the area. The owners were very supportive, providing clear instructions on how to find the apartment in advance, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
Piran
The apartment was perfect for four people. It was super clean and fully equipped for our stay. The location was great and I could never talk enough about how nice and helpful the staff were. They helped us navigate the parking situation with multiple suggestions including pictures. They replied instantly to our questions not only about the apartment but also for Piran. Simply amazing service. The tv had many options, and under it we found some toys for children. We didn’t need them but it was a nice touch.
Piran
Beautiful, spacious room with an amazing view and a balcony overlooking the city. Just a minute’s walk from Tartini square. We parked our car outside Piran and took the shuttle with our luggage as instructed - 2 min walk to the hotel from the bus stop. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you’d need - shampoo, hair dryer, slippers etc. Loved the lounge area with complimentary coffee, fruit juice, and snacks. Couldn’t have chosen a better place for our wedding anniversary!
Best host ever - Tomaz reached out way before arrival, sent us a lot of helpful messages about parking option and entering the building and apartment. Moreover, we got a lot of restaurant, beach and activity recommendations. The apartment was perfect as well, located in the central area of Piran, beaches, shops, restaurants are nearby. There are two free bicycles, which are ideal in this lovely city. The apartment is nice, modern and was really clean.
Piran
I felt like we were part of the history of Piran! The apartment itself is in all the postcards of Tartini square! Although it’s an historic building, it was well renovated with two full washroom, a fully stocked kitchen, air conditioning and an unbeatable view and vibe. It was quite hot during our visit so it was very nice to be able to relax and cool down easily as the location is so central.
Hotel Piran has an amazing location right by the sea and just steps from the old town, which makes it perfect for exploring Piran. The access to the beach is very convenient, and the reception and restaurant staff were always kind and helpful. I also appreciated the shuttle service from the parking area, which made the whole stay much easier.
Great apartment by the sea, had room with a balcony and seaview, worth paying a bit more. Nice pathway to Piran by the seashore, 15 minutes walk there. Room was modern and included a sofa too. Breakfast was very good and restaurant with seaviews. Own parkingplace for client's cars. Public beach beside hotel. Tranquil surroundings.
Piran
Location is excellent but because Piran center is closed to traffic one has to go through this ordeal of dropping of the bags and then parking and coming back to the room. They did the best they can, you get a free parking, but foreigners are a bit confused about it all. The hotel staff does a good job of facilitating it.
Location was great, overlooking the water. Short walk down stairs to the water and Old town. Host was helpful with parking and suggestions on places to visit. The bed was comfortable and the outdoor space was nice. It was like a whole other space with outdoor shower, table, chairs fridge and sink.
A sweet spot location with its own parking just outside the centre of Piran. Lots of space for a family with good facilities. Garden area with a view of the sea and walls. It’s a short walk to town and beaches but make sure you are relatively mobile and fit as it’s a steep climb back up!
Piran
Lovely quiet spot and Katja and Rok were fantastic hosts. Breakfast and dinner were delicious as was the local wine we had. Short cycle to Porteroz and Piran along a lovely coast path. Parking isn’t easy in the area so being able to park at Sole was super helpful.
Piran
Rado was a perfect host, nice and friendly. The place is in a great location near the square, fully equipped with everything. We were worried about parking but Rado helped us in everything. We are really grateful. 100% recommend! -Ardo Virginia
Nice hotel, a short and beautiful 15-minute walk from the center of Piran. The hotel has a private, stoney beach with complimentary beach beds for guests. The breakfast selection was okay, the staff was super friendly and helpful!
Excellent location in the center of Piran. Easy to reach from parking garage. Spacious rooms and very clean. Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Large and hearty breakfast.
Piran
The property was comfortable. The hosts were more than helpful. Free car parking. Loved Piran. The walk down into the town was steep, but doable. Thank you to Frank and son.
Perfect location in central Piran. Quite spacious and very well-appointed. Modern and clean. Good pre-arrival instructions on parking and other logistics.
