Set in the hills above Berlinho, just a few steps off the Camino Santiago, Casa do Pitoco is a beautifully renovated one bedroom apartment. Everything is new and beautifully designed. The owner, Alvira, was extremely warm and generous. Our stay here was a highlight of our Camino.

A warm welcome for pilgrims. I enjoyed the whole room with my own bathroom. Restaurants are in the near. The outside garden with lemon tree is amazing and you can buy drinks in the hostel for a cheap price.

I stayed at the Spot Hostel while walking the Camino de Santiago and it was the perfect stay. Most of the rooms are private, but in the common areas you get to relax with other pilgrims. Fão, where the Hostel is located is a charming village and has restaurants if you don’t want to use the kitchen at the hostel.

Like: everything. Clean, quiet, and the breakfast was amazing!! Emilia was amazing and we really enjoyed visiting with her. Dislike: nothing. Okay….restaurant options not as plentiful as other guest house stays on the Camino but there are some nearby that worked out just fine.
