Stunning accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, an excellent guide, fascinating excursions, a scientific research centre which genuinely contributes to conserving the flora and fauna whilst helping the local community. Altogether the best experience we could have had in the Amazon. Not cheap but this was a once in a lifetime experience and worth every penny. Slept better here than ever before.

Amazon Planet is a true ecolodge within a natural protected area surrounded by primary original rainforest and wild animals in their natural habitat.

We loved everything! Lodge and rooms, hosts, food, tour guide, transport were all brilliant! A fantastic once-in-a-lifetime trip that was well organized and good value for money. So cool to see the good they're doing at the rescue center too! You can really feel the love for the Amazon here.

A really lovely, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature, with all the little whooping, scratching, hooting critters that abound. Nicholas, the host, was so helpful in sorting us out with various things, including day trips. It is quite a way from town so organise your food and drinks before you arrive, and don't be fooled by the distance on the map - the real distance is further as you bounce around swerving round potholes. Some taxis might not make the journey depending on the season. Here be dragons....

Excellent location right on the Rio Tambopata. All meals and numerous activities included. Located right next to the Amazon Shelter for Animal and Environmental Protection, which you can visit for a small donation and receive a guided tour. Very friendly and family-like atmosphere. Situated in Puerto Maldonado, La Habana Conservation Area offers accommodation with a balcony. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries.

Enai is located in the forest, on the shore of the Madre de Dios River, 15 minutes from the city of Puerto Maldonado. Enai has a restaurant, outdoor pool, bar and garden.

Everything was amazing. Everyone was so eager to help, the location is spectacular, the activities are great and nicely organized and the value for money is just great.

Located in Puerto Maldonado, Libélula Hotel provides a shared lounge. Private parking is available on site. Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable channels.

2 minutes walk from the main plaza and all the tour offices. 5 mins walk from the Cacao Center. Absolutely clean rooms and bathrooms (rare in budget hotels in Peru!). The a/c is really welcome in Puerto as the humidity is debilitating. Friendly staff, several of whom speak English. Focus on sustainability. Huge TVs in the rooms with what looks like a cable box connected, though I didn't try mine. Strong, hot showers and good drainage. Comfortable beds and pillows. I stayed in 3 different rooms on different stays, and it seems they are adding more little amenities, like de-humidifier machine, towel racks in the bathroom, etc room by room. The lower floor rooms have them, but the top floor doesn't yet. I would still choose this hotel over any other in Puerto.
