Clean, pretty roomy, easy to find, comfortable. We had a great stay at Tokyo (2 parents + 6yo, 4yo and a 4mo baby). Staff was kind and very helpful whenever we needed something. There is a Family Mart close by where I got us breakfast everyday, and the microwave in the room fits the Avent sterilizator. The baby bed was of good quality (not just a camping crib).

Fantastic location for our family - the hotel was about 100 metres from Tawaramachi metro station, one stop from Asaskusa on the Ginza line, so it was perfect to be able to get to wherever we needed to go. It was a very short walk to the main sights of Asakusa and right next to Kappabashi street, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it was quiet at night. There were loads of food options right on our doorstep and it was a 5 minute walk to the ROX mall with a great Department store for cheap sushi and food. The room was enormous by Tokyo standards, and the washer/dryer in the room was fantastic. We loved having the tatami section which we could section off with a closed door (particularly as my husband snored quite a bit with the dry air and the long days!), and having kitchen access with a microwave and full fridge was so helpful. Staff were friendly and very keen to be of assistance. Highly recommended!

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

What Guests Said About Tokyo:

Tokyo is a vibrant city.

Tokyo is a vibrant city. People are very courteous, very disciplined, and eco-friendly. I wish they can apply the same principle where I live - just bring wash towel instead of using paper towels in public restrooms. Everyone is aware of not throwing trash in public but I think the city should still provide trash cans for the tourists to throw the trash to be able to maintain the cleanliness of the city.

One of the greatest and most interesting large capital cities I have ever visited. From the historical sites, cultural and shopping districts, food, countless adult and children’s attractions, you name it...it is a place that deserves a spot in your travel wish list, and once there, you'll end up craving to come back again.

Tokyo is just impressive.

Tokyo is just impressive. At the beginning it can be a little bit too much but don't worry you get used to it pretty fast. You can easily hop around the different cities of the metropolitan by using one of the various metros and change places in short time. But keep in mind, trains are not running 24/7.

Tokyo is everything you imagine it to be — a symphony of neon and tradition, with exquisite fashion and food that feels like art. The people are unfailingly kind and graceful, even in the most avant-garde boutiques — I felt guilty not being able to speak their language. And the record shops are bursting with rare vinyl. Ps. Paddlers Cafe in Hatsudai has the best coffee in town.

Everything. I thought the room was gonna be smaller, but it was perfect. We absolutely loved the fact that the bus limousine from Narita airport stopped exactly at the hotel. We also took the same bus on the way to the hotel. With parents of a certain age and luggages it was the best option. The hotel was really nice and the room was clean. There was also the possibility to rent pajamas for free and freebies such as masks, hair conditioner, hair bands, teas, etc., which we really appreciated. Staff was amazingly nice.

Location is very good! You have access to two nearby lines, JR chuo-sobu, and the Oedo subway. JR chuo-sobu easily connects to Akihabara and Shinjuku . For the hotel itself the spa was good and spacious. During the stay, even at 6am there were already a few people (5++) in the spa. There is also a Lawson's convenient store with a good selection food and snacks, and also hot snacks (friend chicken) located inside the hotel on level 2.
