I can recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Kamakura. It's a very short walk from Kamakura station and the hotel is as well in walking distance to major sightseeing sites of the city. There are plenty of excellent restaurant choices nearby and for people who don't want to spend money on the breakfast there is a family mart across the street. While rooms by European standard are a bit smaller they are larger than most of hotel rooms I have been to in 30 yeas of travelling to Japan. Breakfast is a bit pricy (3000 yen) but there are a lot of choices and the quality of the food, buffet, is excellent. The hotel is super clean, super efficient, the staff is outstanding and as mentioned before this is a clear recommendation.

Helpful staff accommodating our late arrival due to train problems, fire in the tracks, which delayed our arrival by more than 2 hours. Good location, close to the station and easy to walk around to the main sites or get a bus. Comfortable room, just enough for our needs. All good!

There was not one thing I did not like. There was space to put your clothes something becoming rare in Japanese hotels. The ofuro was a pleasure and the extensive manga library a big perk as well.Excellent complimentary coffee to start the day and a light night snack after the ofuro round up the day.

Located just next to Kita-Kamakura Station, about 2-3 minutes’ walk. The room is clean and well-organized. One can hardly feel that the it is actually quite small ( another good feature though, easy to fetch anything and all are at hand). Japanese-styled decoration with actual tatami, AC and a great bathroom and everything people can ask for in a hotel. The hosting lady is one with kind heart and hospitality, I had a good time chatting with her in Japanese (it’s ok if you don’t speak Japanese, the translator she used is of great help)

Very nice city, plenty of historical sights, shopping, restaurants. Make sure it is not a national holiday though, the local train was absolutely packed! Many people make the trek to ride the nostalgic Enoden Electric Line, a fun trip along the coast but crushing crowds on a Sunday before a holiday.

Kamakura has lots to offer if you like hiking and water sports. I did a hike to the great Buddha and also went for a run through the city and on the mountain. The wind was perfect for wind surfing and having a nice time on the beach.

It’s a small city, yet popular with tourists thanks to its blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. While some spots can get quite crowded, those who enjoy hiking can escape the crowds by booking a local guide and exploring the mountain trails. These paths lead to hidden shrines and temples, offering not only a peaceful atmosphere but also stunning views.

One week was the perfect way to enjoy the town and explore temples and shrines...and cute cafes! We recommend taking a walking tour to get a feel for the town and learn temple etiquette, etc.. In addition, we tried a few experiences - kintsugi golden joinery, woodcarving, and indigo dyeing. It was wonderful to meet the artisans and work with them (even though we are not terribly artistic!). Kamakura never fails when it comes to food - especially Japanese and Italian restaurants, and gelato!

The Hase-dera Shrine and the Great Buddha are awe-inspiring and accessing them by local train is easy. By far the most beautiful shrine we have seen in our travels. Some fabulous restaurants and a great breakfast spot near the beach. Enoshima Island is also worth a visit.

The accommodation was spotless, and a short walk from Kita-Kamakura station, so ideally situated for exploring Kamakura and surroundings. A comfy bed, and roomy shower were welcome after a long day of exploring. The staff were lovely, and despite my minimal Japanese, we managed to communicate well. Great stay!
