Polite, helpful staff. Very nice attached restaurant. Food was tasty. Staff was willing and able to accommodate dietary restrictions (vegan, no cheese, butter, cream, milk, ghee or paneer). Staff helped us with transportation.

Jog falls in the rainy season is majestic and should not be missed. Bhadra Wildlife sanctuary is also a good place to look for wildlife and do a safari - the kids will love it. That apart, there are many small places in and around Shimoga that can be explored - Mattur, Guli Guli Shankara temple, Sacred Heart Cathedral, etc.

Shimoga is the best place for stay food is good.

Shimoga is the best place for stay food is good. But if you ate traveling in other state vehicle it's not the best place to go. I got a very bad experience in Gandhi Bazar road were I parked and went for shopping. One local guy purposely came and hit my car and made a big mess and some 50 people surrounded and damaged my car. After police came every body ran away. So pls be careful when driving inside shimoga.

A small town with well laid out roads.

A small town with well laid out roads. The town planner should plan placing direction boards along road junctions, for the benefit of travelers. Gandhi park which is a tourist spot could have been better maintained, a parking lot also could assist folks visiting the park. I could not visit the Lion safari as it had closed for the day. The drive to Jog falls is simply awesome. The scenic beauty enthralls and the road is a pleasure to drive. Breakfast at Sagar is a good option, the hotel I stopped at served a scrumptious meal! (pardon me for not recollecting the name of the hotel)

The drive to Shimoga and further to Jog Falls is a great experience, except a few small patches which need to be done up ! The hills with its vegetation is quite lovely and Jog Falls is so very beautiful.

During our Karnatak trip we had booked 3 rooms to stay on 31st Oct 2022 at Royal Orchid central, Shimoga. It was a really great experience with this hotel since from reporting till check out. Hotel offered 5 star facilities in just ₹2200/only. Has enough car parking. Offerd nice complementary buffet breakfast. Everything was clean. Excellent stay as compared to other hotels we enjoyed it during our 10 days visit to Karnataka.

Resort location is good and so are the rooms, stayed in family cottage, bedroom has AC but living rooms doesn't have AC ,management should consider puttting AC in living room too as summer in shimoga is bad, bathroom was clean and tidy with decent accessories, food is good, but go for Ala Carta as buffet is a total rip off with no varieties at all and buffet spread is mediocre, staff are good and well behaved

Infratructure was very good. Rooms and other facilities reminded me of Marriott hotel in a positive sense. Room and bed were comfortable.For the price I had paid, I would say it was a great value for money. Location was bit outside and without car difficult to move
