The Carrick Gate is just an all round great place. Located on the river right in town. So clean, newly refurbished, comfortable and excellent Continental breakfast with loads of choices. We were the only ones there being winter so it was lovely and quiet. We booked late and had a bit of delay making phone contact for the key, but that was fixed up quickly for us. The hosts were amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was a much needed respite after a long day of travel. The house was inviting and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and there were so many options. It was delicious. We would absolutely recommend this lovely B and B.

Absolutely beautiful and comfortable B&B! It exceeded our expectations. The host was so kind and responsive. The location was perfect for us, as we were hiking Slieve League the following morning. Close drive into town. Breakfast was exceptional, and they even had a great vegetarian option. We will absolutely return next time we're in Ireland!

Tina was an incredibly welcoming host, she went above and beyond to help us make the most out of our stay there, even though it was only for one night! She really made our experience wholesome- the lodge is located in an idyllic spot with access to two separate beaches (you just need to bypass a temperamental goose to make it there). Honestly, our stay there was a core memory for both myself and my friend and one we are really gonna treasure 🙂 1000000000/10 -would recommend

We loved our stay at River View. Kristina and her family couldn't have been more welcoming. It was a last minute booking and everything was ready to go when we arrived. The house itself is brand new, with everything you need - modern, fitted out kitchen, lovely shower and beautiful views. We were only staying for one night but it would make a great base for a few days exploring the area. The house is an easy 10 minute walk from Kilcar village which has everything you need. Kristina was even kind enough to offer us a lift down to the town. This was great value for such warm hospitality in a great location. I would definitely recommend staying on a Tuesday evening to catch the trad session in John Joe's Bar, if you're looking for genuine Traditional Irish Music, this is it.
