We felt how special the place is right away when the owner Jim gave us a tour around the cottage. There are so many stories within the place that we got to explore in the cottage itself and the blog about its history, that Jim left us with. With a personal welcome note from his daughter, a variety of food essentials and a folder full of local recommendations, we felt perfectly setup for the stay. We'd love to come back!

Fantastic stay, Mark was a great host. The rooms are new, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Could not fault anything about our stay. Plenty of on street parking and the location was very central.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Barnahown B&B in Mitchelstown. The room was beautifully designed, with stylish decor, gorgeous colours, and such a thoughtful layout. The shower was incredible, and we had the best sleep thanks to the fresh country air and the peaceful, quiet surroundings. From the moment we arrived, Ciara greeted us with such warmth and kindness that we instantly felt at home. She is an exceptional host , attentive, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Every little detail showed how much love and thought she puts into making her guests comfortable. Breakfast was simply delicious, freshly prepared with so much attention, and it made the mornings truly special. We felt more like we were visiting a close friend than staying at a B&B. Ciara’s hospitality made us feel relaxed and completely at ease, and thanks to her, we left with wonderful memories of our trip. This place is a gem!

Decor is lovely. Rooms quiet, large and clean. Staff is wonderful. Great food and bar! We all four loved it.

It’s a very nice, clean ad. tidy room with a king size bed. Very comfortable with a mountain view. Great Irish breakfast. The host couple is nice. It is excellent value for money.

I liked everything. the surrounding is amazing. the room was big, and stunning view. we had the dinner, was perfect. And breakfast had everything.

Great location for hiking and for some peace and quiet. This is a terrific escape from hustle and bustle. We didn't use the various hot tubs and saunas but I am sure they are wonderful. Michelle and Rhona gave us great advice about the locale and a day trip to Lismore is a must.

Modern Living apartment is located in Balnacart, just 22 miles from University College Cork and 23 miles from Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
