We had a very good experience, especially because of the hosts: very warm, welcoming and helpful people that made us feel at 'home away from home'. the house is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean (honestly, we haven't seen one speck of dust in 3 days we've been there). The location is superb, close to many attractions but tucked away from noise and crowds, the breakfast was delicious and the bed was super comfortable. They have beautiful outdoors sitting are where we had one meal and loved it too. Our room had a shower and toilet outside, which wasn't what we expected, but it stoped being a bother after a short while. Overall a great place to stay and we will definitely be back if in the area.

Sally was an amazing hostess. The house and accommodation are top-notch. Our experience was beyond impressed from before we arrived and well after we left. Sally provided great food suggestions and helped us get reservations when we were unable to. This is a very peaceful, wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was some of the best food I have had. All is healthy and home cooked.

Lovely apartment with everything you need at your fingertips. We stayed for one night following a visit to Whitby and could not fault it. Peaceful surroundings, teabags, milk and biscuits were well received after a busy day. The dog wash outside the annex was a bonus to wash down our dog's wet and muddy paws. The bed and pillows were very comfy!

Goathland is a really nice place to be, when all is quiet,...

Goathland is a really nice place to be, when all is quiet, early morning or evening time it is absolutely magical. The Inn on the moor and the Mallyan Spout hotel are lovely places to eat and drink unfortunately I can’t say the same about the Goathland hotel. If you like walking then Goathland is a great place to start.

It's £4 to park there but several places to eat and drink, the Hearbeat locations and the steam trains. Worth a visit even if you are not interested in heartbeat or trains. Sheep graze throughout the village so dogs must be on leads.

This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors.

This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors. Located in a quiet but delightful village, it is perfectly situated for exploring the moors or coast, and of course the added bonus of the North Yorkshire Railway, Goathland station just a short walk away from the hotel. Once visited, most will return again and again.

Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free. It is worth visiting for the steam trains, the Heartbeat connection and some lovely walks. If you stay it is a great base to explore the Whitby coastline.

Beautiful village very relaxing.

Beautiful village very relaxing. Lots of little cafes and shops. We ate at the Inn on the Moor, the food was excellent with plenty of choice. The North Yorkshire Moor Railway runs through the station at Goathland. The station is lovely and takes you back in time to the days of steam railways. There are many walks around the moors from the village [long and short].

Everything!! Charlotte and Karen are super hosts. From having an excellent room with great views of Goathland , breakfast was exceptional and tasty homemade treats left in the room with plenty of hot drinks to choose from. Goathland Post Office Cottage is in the perfect location and I love the 1960s/70s vibes. Everything was spotlessly clean and each room was large. Comfortable beds, and the kitchen had such wonderful history and personality. Reminded me a bit of 1950s, especially with the retro signs and fridge.

Beautiful hotel..the staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was amazing..extremely dog friendly. Loved the doggy parcel 🐾 Extra touches in the double standard room of a bath and fridge which we hadn't expected. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back 👌
