Everything was excellent. The location directly at the amazingly beautiful Cobo beach is just perfect. My room was huge, spotlessly clean and with a very comfortable bed. The staff are all very friendly and remember the little things like how you prefer your breakfast. The food at the restaurant is very good. And again, all the staff are very friendly and attentive. For example, I always get rid of the paper straws in my drinks, because I hate that soaking paper in my drinks. I didn‘t say a word about it, but from the second drink onwards I was always the only one who got drinks without a straw in it. It is a only a little detail , but to me that kind of service is the mark of a really good hotel/restaurant.

The room was very comfortable. I have stayed in most of the rooms in this hotel and this was one of the best. Separate bedroom and sitting area were a bonus. The room was very clean with a good selection of refreshments that were refreshed daily.

It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays.

It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays. It’s also great for those interested in history with all the occupation places to visit. There are plenty of good places to eat. We when to Crabby Jacks which has a varied menu. The local kiosks are also great places for a snack. It’s easy to get around either by car or public transport which is very regular. Lots of people came with bikes.

Castel is a good position for trips to any part of Guernsey, particularly the lovely sandy bays all along the North West coastline. Coastal destinations have kiosks for drinks and toilets for comfort. Cobo bay tearooms are a destination for locals and tourists alike, with traditional Guernsey fare and the most amazing home made cakes. A warm summer evening sitting on the beach with Fish and Chips from Cobo chippie, watching the sunset is paradise!

The hotel is very well situated within lovely grounds and you can be at the coast in just a few minutes. Beautiful beaches with cafes and restaurants are close by. There are lovely coastal walks and drives. For those without a car there is a good bus service to take you along the coast or into St Peter Port.

Clean place.

Clean place. Drivers are polite and will stop and let you cross over the road. Buses go round the island 92 . Cost £1.50 pay by card. Or £11 for 2 days and you xan get on and off the buses. Great for walking .

A MAGNIFICENT hotel. Elegant but not formal; superb staff.

A MAGNIFICENT hotel. Elegant but not formal; superb staff. Food of the highest standard. A joy to stay there. Castel has a character all of its own. Many brochures seem to steer guests down south, where the roads are impossible and beaches beautiful but not easy to reach. Cobo and the west/north-west coast doesn't suffer from these problems.

Did not stay in Castel area itself during the day, only for overnight at the hotel. Spent most of time touring round the whole island, visiting all the occupation-related museums, dining for lunch and evening meals in St Peters Port after the first night, Excellent bus service meant there was no need to hire a car.

Lovely hotel with wonderful attentive staff. The setting is gorgeous, with the pool area and outdoor seating area. The bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet. We loved the breakfast, especially the fruit selection and the cooked options. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and hope to return one day!
