Great location within 10 Minutes walking distance to the village. The room was very big and the beds super comfy. Paola is a great host and knows a lot what to do in Mindo. You can see a lot of colibris around the house and if you are lucky can spot the Tucans. :-) We would definitly come again.

Hiking in the cloud forest was a special experience. The Cascadas de Nambillo, the Butterly Garden , the birding tour with Marcelo Arias - were all great opportunity to understand local flora and fauna and having a lot of fun.

Mindo is a great little town, and can arrange lots of activities directly in Mindo. I wish we'd have had more time to explore the town, but we were here just for a birdwatching tour -- which was simply amazing!

We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo.

We very much enjoyed our two days in Mindo. Another day, would have been enjoyable, but we were able to hike through the cloud forest to visit six of the seven waterfalls and enjoyed our time at the butterfly refuge and hummingbird garden on our first day. On our second day, we greatly enjoyed our birding tour and on our way back to Quito had time to stop by Al Mitad del Mundo.

Mindo is in a beautiful area with great opportunities for hiking. We enjoyed the Butterfly farm and the Maya Chocolate demonstration, and had a great meal at a tiny family run restaurant called Persian House.

I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of...

I chose to head to Mindo instead of staying in the city of Quito as I wanted a place to relax and recoup from my long haul flight and get ready for my Galapagos Experience. It was everything I wanted, I felt safe and had options for dining without having to get taxi’s around. The bird life was amazing and I loved the cloud forest environment.

Mindo has a lot of wonderful nature options. Feeding hummingbirds, the BEST butterfly gardens we have ever visited and we have been to many & really good bird watching - we used Sandra & Romelly at Bird Paradaisio (sp) & had alot of fun & Romelly drove us back safely to Quito but took us on an extra bird sighting trip on the way that was super - wonderful too! The trails to the waterfalls was a lot of fun & the falls are worth the trek although these out of shape older folks didn't make it to them all. The chocolate tour at Yumbos led by Amir was wonderful! We enjoyed both the tarabita & telerifico rides although the last was a bit scary, terrific views! Prices for everything was very reasonable, food may be a bit higher than rest of Ecuador but not too bad. Limited options though as most menus looked almost the same. One place we would definitely come back to. Only the food options were a little lacking. Everything else was fun & it was nice to be out of big cities.

Hot tub on our balcony was amazing. Facilitated late check in and kept the restaurant open a little later so we could eat when we arrived (which was VERY much appreciated). Chef was great with my gluten free requirement too. The setting of the hotel is incredible with beautiful wildlife, room balcony views, walks around the property etc. Free canyon swing and ziplining through the forest. Breakfast was delicious, coffee was the best we had on our trip. Helped us with a driver for our last day to get back to quito.

A lovely riverside garden property with a genuine cloud forest atmosphere. Our cabin was surrounded by flowers and birds. Only a few minutes walk from downtown town. Best breakfast we've had in a months travels through Ecuador. Staff were exceptionally helpful with pre arrival communication, recommending activities, guides, long distance drivers and calling taxis. And laundry service at the end of the week to top it off.

Beautiful breakfast with fresh fruits, juices, coffee, tea, bread, jam and butter and eggs. You can observe the birds from there. The hotel is close to the center, yet it feels like you are in a forest. It's really quite, and the orchids are stunning. Our room was big and really clean amd we could watch the bird from our window. The staff has been lovely and helpful

They have been supporting the bird population for 25 years and we saw over 20 species from the deck. It is such a relaxing way to enjoy the best aspects of Mindo. The accommodation is basic but excellent value for the price. Breakfasts were better than expected.
