Our family enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the New Helvetia. We did not realize until we arrived how unique the hotel is. The rich history is showcased in it's social areas that include a full bar, dining area, sitting area and gorgeous terrace overlooking the foothills of the Troodos. The space is full of vintage charm, but also included all the modern ammenities we needed (updated, clean and well eqipped bathroom), air-conditioning, and strong WIFI service. The staff was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and attentive. They truly seemed to love and take pride in this very special place. Go and enjoy!

Superb luxury hotel. This is by far the best hotel in the whole Platres/Troodos area. Our suite was wonderful, with views over the pool. The public rooms were also very good. Location is just 3 minutes walk from Platres centre.

No expense was spared when this place was built and furnished! Super high tech making it so easy to access the parking, get into your room, set the perfect mood lighting and more. The bed and the side chairs were so comfy and stylish. We felt like we were staying in a high end loft in a metropolitan city. We had some questions and Costas was so quick to reply even though he was out of town and his staff came promptly to help us out. My husband was in awe of how this place was built and the eco technology that was used. In his words “this place is the way of the future!” Our main reason for staying in the mountains was to hike. We went on a couple of great hikes including Kalidonia Falls which you can walk to from Le Vert. We didn’t take any photos of the inside of the room as it was true to the photos on the internet but I am sharing some photos of our hike.

This hotel is amazing for couples without children wishing to relax for a few days. The views, the quiet, how comfortable the bed is and even sitting on the sofa sipping wine and watching TV. The host, however, is the cherry on the top. Very friendly and helpful and he made sure we didn't lack anything. And that's on top of a great location for visitting attractions on the Troodos mountain range, a wonderful breakfast (make sure to try the yogurt!) and a clean, cutelittle hotel with great vibes!

I had an amazing experience staying at this apartment. Everything exceeded my expectations. The space was clean, modern, and very well-maintained. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, making check-in and communication smooth and stress-free. The apartment was fully equipped with everything I needed – from a comfortable bed and fresh linens to a fully stocked kitchen. I was expecting more people in Platres during the summer...

I was expecting more people in Platres during the summer month of may but unfortunately the place looked deserted. Very few restaurants were open to have lunch and dinner, and sometimes the quality was very avarage. I would not recomment visiting Platres in July, perhaps August will be much better when local people take their holidays.

Liked: the service, the food, the breakfast, the politeness of the people working there. Even though is renovated the feeling of the rooms is a bit outdated. The wc/shower room is very small The shower is very narrow and uncomfortable. Also there could be some arrangement for wardrobe. The price of the room is overestimated. BUT we keep choosing Petit Palais every time we choose Platres.

Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus.

Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus. it has a lovely vibe and many restaurants and cafes to choose from. I recommend Pendeli Hotel for a luxurious stay or forest park if looking for a very budget friendly stay. Petit Palais is one of the oldest hotels in the square and is loved by locals and tourists. EnPlatron is one of my favourite Taverns offering great traditional dishes and live music on weekends. Kaledonia Tavern is also a favourite local tavern so make sure to give it a try Cleopatra Bistro is a favourite for modern dining and deserts and beverages. Beautiful and modern decor if looking for yummy fast food try I Sitzia Tou Mavrou for a delicious Gyros

Able to do several walks from hotel.

Able to do several walks from hotel. Needs a bit of tidying up but a charming place to stay. Evening meals were hard to find, had two meals away from hotel, very poor could not eat much of it. Hotel good good but limited choice.

It was a really special, quiet wee place, with excellent...

It was a really special, quiet wee place, with excellent access to all the trails in the Troodos hills. A 15 minute drive from kakopetria where there is more options for food and supermarkets; however, the eateries available in Platres were all found to be serving up wonderful local cuisine (their opening times are just a little hit and miss, so if you are not eating early, you may struggle).

Very quiet location, not ideal for people with limited...

Very quiet location, not ideal for people with limited mobility. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the village. Kalidonia Waterfall is a must see, its trail is not too steep but can get busy with walking groups. Not too far to Omodos which again is beautiful. Driving is a bit winding as you are in the Troodos but well worth it for the views at every turn, lots of places to pull into for the driver to appreciate.

The hotel is old so the first impression was not good but most of the staff is very friendly and trying to solve any problem. We stayed in the hotel with our two kids for three nights to explore some of the hiking routes in Platres.As a starting point for that the hotel is great. Many nice nature trails in the area. Hotel surroundings are nice but absolutely not takes care of - maybe because of the pre season. The breakfast was quite nice. Nice sauna we used to warm ourselves up.

We liked absolutely every thing about this hotel. Very unique. Such wonderful in every detail. We sat out on the verandah sipping our drinks and soaked up the pine smelling surroundings. Pity we are only here for one night. Next time longer. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely, cosy and very clean apartment. Had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It was nicely designed and decorated. It is in the centre of Pano Platres, just above the Starlight restaurant. Would highly recommend.
