The seclusion of the spot made it feel like a private slice of paradise. The river and waterfall were so serene that I could spend hours simply relaxing on their sun loungers by the edge. There is also a cafe across the river that is run by a wife and husband duo that is only accessible by walking or driving on a path through a scenic rice paddy. It had sushi, pizza, noodles and more that was delicious and worth trying! The lodge also offers a range of riverside activites such as saunas, bike riding, a fire-pit for evening relaxation, and water rafting. The rafting and the peaceful moments floating in the river were core memories from my stay and a must try!

The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.

The kitchen was well appointed and if there was something we needed that wasn’t supplied we just had to ask Mayumi the owner.

The property features lake and river views, and is 18 km from Kinrinko Lake. The holiday home has family rooms. A lovely house in the wilderness! You have your own private Onsen, both inside and outside which was fantastic. Hence we didn’t manage to rent a car we had to go there with bus and then walk 3 km from closest bus stop. When the staff found out they immediately offered to drive us the next morning and stay another hour in the house to correspond with our bus to Beppu. Very kind and considerate young man. Thank you, we appreciate it.

The huts are simple, but comfortable and the shower water pressure is great. The kitchen comes with a cooking plate and a rice cooker, which was very convenient for me.

The accommodation has a hot tub. The food was sublime! Seriously. Everything tasted amazing. The cabins themselves are very high quality. They did not cut corners. Everything you need is in the kitchen and the washing machine worked great too. The private bath with large window was a centerpiece and a soak in the tub was transformative!!
