The host was incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The cottage was equipped with everything needed — BBQ area, cutlery, towels, and more.

Full disclosure, you are WAY in there - like, on the hillside. The road getting in is super bumpy and hilly, so not for the faint of heart nor for a SmartCar I wouldn't think. We were in a midsize crossover and it struggled a bit. But once you're in, it's awesome. There are just a couple of buildings, with the amazing treehouse as advertised, and we stayed in the smaller, newer building which is basically on its own private property or section of the larger property. 2 bedrooms, one bath, not much else, really. A small table where you can grab a meal together, couch for 2 where the kids sat and decompressed (after their time in the treehouse) while we made one dinner onsite. Which I recommend if you want a glass of wine, because I was not willing to do the drive in - and all of the gates and locks - after a nice glass of Nero D'Avola. So bring provisions with you! We read, and took note of, that gem of advice from other reviewers and it's critical. But actually the supermarket in Nicolosi is awesome (IMPORTANT NOTE: you want to the Supermercati Deco at Via della Quercia, 24/A, 95030 Nicolosi because the other ones that maps suggest are all closed) and convenient, and so that's a quick and reasonably convenient option. But we hiked, toured the lava flows, kids had a blast in the tree house and on the grounds, and we did Mount Etna one day and Aci Castello (recommend!) another day. Great base camp, nice property and building and just what we wanted to do a couple of days of convening with nature. Fun with kids.

At Armando's Home is gelegen op 26 km van Piazza Duomo en biedt een tuin en een terras. De accommodaties hebben airconditioning, een patio en gratis WiFi. Fijne locatie. Mooie kamer. Heerlijk ontbijt. En een fijne gastheer. Zeker als uitvalsbasis om de Etna te bezoeken prachtig, en de gastheer kent een zeer fijne gids.

Villa dei Marchesi Carrozza is gelegen in Santa Teresa di Riva, op 6 minuten lopen van Spiaggia Santa Teresa Di Riva en 14 km van Kabelbaan Taormina - Mazzarò. Het is een prachtig huis en een hele mooie tuin. Leuk met de kipjes, vissen en schildpadden. Het zwembad was voor onze dochter van 2 jaar super. Het ontbijt was ook helemaal top.

Villa Rosaria heeft een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een terras, en biedt accommodatie in Giarre met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de zee. Deze accommodatie heeft een balkon en gratis privéparkeren.

Scorzamara Country Lodges bevindt zich in Villasmundo, op 38 km van Piazza Duomo, en biedt gratis WiFi, gratis privéparkeren en uitzicht op de tuin. De lodges zijn van alles voorzien! Wij hadden een huisje geboekt met jacuzzi om onze vakantie relaxt af te sluiten. Erg mooi en modern en van alles voorzien. De omgeving is rustig. Super hygiënisch en dicht bij het vliegveld. Zeker een aanrader!!

Etna Chalet Nicolosi heeft uitzicht op de tuin, en biedt accommodatie met een patio en een koffiezetapparaat, op 20 km van park Villa Bellini.

Milonghita Apartment Ortigia ligt midden in het centrum van Syracuse, en heeft uitzicht op de stad vanaf het balkon. Sofia en Clara zijn heel aardig en behulpzaam. Het appartement ligt midden in het centrum maar de kamers liggen aan de achterkant dus helemaal geen last van herrie van de straat.

Chalet Mondifeso beschikt over een tuin en een barbecue, en biedt accommodatie in Pedara met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de zee.

Woods Etna Chalet heeft uitzicht op de tuin, en biedt accommodatie met een patio en een waterkoker, op 31 km van Piazza Duomo. Deze accommodatie heeft een balkon, gratis privéparkeren en gratis WiFi. If you want to stay on Etna, somewhere quiet and peaceful, this is the place! It is 30 minutes drive to the nearest town with stores/cafes etc to get supplies (the tap water isn't drinkable by the way!) There is lots of good walking through the woods and amazing views of the volcano. The chalet is extremely comfortable and the mattress was perfect!! Marco was extremely helpful, we arrived early and he made the effort to give us access remotely before he could arrive to show us everything personally. We loaded up on firewood and spent 2 days sitting by the fire, and had several visits from the local fox, who is quite timid but very cute and always looking for food! Electricity, WiFi, hot water, heating etc all perfect.
