I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

AFYA village makes you feel home immediately. The staff is very friendly and the small houses are cozy. The food is delicious. It's a special place highly recommendable if you look for relaxation in a tranquille environment.

U live in a tropical garden. Colourfull area with cosy bungalows and place for chill. Delicious african food. Very safe for single female traveler. Staff very friendly. Beach is some minutes walk. Sunset party every day.

The Staff is the best they make you feel welcome at home and at ease

Absolutely everything about this place exceeded our expectations! It's an absolute must-visit. We were particularly impressed by the owner's commitment to sustainability, evident in their refusal to use single-use plastics. Instead, they offer fresh water in glass bottles and provide stainless steel straws with each drink. The staff's kindness extends beyond humans, too - their furry friends, the dogs and cats, are clearly well-loved and cared for. Another thoughtful touch is the daily visit from staff around 6 pm to spray the room with bug repellent - a lovely added convenience. Overall, we can't recommend this place highly enough!

Bungalow was perfect. Everything resembles what you see in the pictures. The location is Peaceful. Very helpful and honest staff who are always ready to help.

clean room with good water pressure. good location (2mins to beach), the breakfast is good, worker and chef are so nice, they got fresh fruit for breakfast. The boss is helpful, he suggest and direct me to Jozani and Paje beach.

This an amazing place we stayed at—Nakupenda Paje Villa! It was exactly what we needed. The host welcomed us with a big smile and prepared a delicious full breakfast every morning. The villa is really close to the heart of Paje Beach, and if you follow the instructions, you won't have any trouble finding it. I also used their laundry service, and a lovely lady from the staff had our clothes fresh and ready the same day! Plus, there’s a 24/7 security guard service, which made us feel very safe. Overall, our accommodation was super comfortable. We highly recommend Nakupenda Paje Villa!

Very nice place near Paje and Jambiani. Rooms was nice and cleaned every day. Food and beverages are in good prices and quality is so high and good. Every Thursday owners make some local party it was incredible fun 😂🥂 The bigest plus for staff !
