Amazing staff who provided exceptional services. The place was clean and everyone was nice.

It’s a good location close to the beach and restaurants. The lodge is beautiful with lawnchairs and lounges outside in a nice garden. Beachchairs available at 2 locations by the beach, only 5 min away. Breakfast was also great. Staff is very friendly and helpful, I enjoyed my stay a lot. Thank you!

Loved the setting with the infinity pool view from above, food was good and rooms comfortable. Beach setting excellent, great rock pooling at low tide.

The Mambo Cabana Hotel offers a wonderful experience for a relaxing vacation. My room was spacious and beautiful, offering all the necessary comforts for rest. The food served was delicious with a variety of options that satisfied my taste buds. A big advantage is the location of the hotel, just 1 minute from the beach, which made access to the sea extremely convenient. Mambo Cabana is certainly an excellent choice for a holiday getaway.

Where to start? The location is absolutely fantastic. When we walked in, we received a very warm welcome from Joyce. As soon as we entered the property, tranquillity hit us in the face. We immediately thought we needed to extend our stay at Utupoa. The staff went out of their way to give us everything we needed. Phoebe and Freddie, Joyce's daughters, also came over for the holidays. We had some great chats, laughs and drinks together. We left with pain in our hearts and will never forget the home we never knew we had.

I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

Sagando has the most amazing staff and I apologize in advance for the long text, but they deserve all the praise. They made us feel very welcome. We stayed in another location in the beginning of our vacation and they even went and picked up our big suitcases there and stored them for 6 days until we returned from our safari. The girls at the reception helped us with every request. The ladies from housekeeping were so kind, leaving us surprises on the bed. They even opened up our bed in the evening when spraying for mosquitos. We loved going to the restaurant for dinner because the boys always welcomed us with the biggest smiles and the food is just delicious. We had the Tuna Tartar basically every day of our 5 night stay. Also they made a huge surprise for my husband's birthday with dancing and singing. The kindness is incredible. Location: it is a 5min walk to the beach, which is totally fine and Michamwi is in our humble opinion the most beautiful beach. It is quiet, clean, safe and has a wonderful sunset. Compared to Pingwe, Kizimkaze and Jambiani, this one wins by far. Also you can go to a hotel on the beach to have drinks or food and use the sunbeds and pool if you want. In Zanzibar everyone will always be ready to help you. Room: not too big, but has everything needed. The bathroom is super cute with open ceiling, so you can watch the stars while you shower. We also had a big balcony with sofa.
