The owners are excellent fun and wonderful hosts - the camp may be new yet they have grown up with their families in Bidiyah. Their knowledge, stories, connection and respect for Wahiba is admirable and deeply fascinating. Atana offers delicious dinner options, snacks, Omani breakfast, a dune top 4x4 tour and transfer pick up from Bidiyah if needed. From the moment I contacted them on Instagram and the kindness they showed me, I knew I was in for a treat! Arriving around 4pm, there’s time to settle into your tent, take in some Omani coffee and breathe in the serenity that engulfs you. An incredible sunset tour on the dunes with safe and experienced driving and a visit to the natural well that provides water for the camel and goat herders (your only neighbours), as well as the camp, and watching the sun kiss the land before descending back for dinner - the best BBQ I have had in Oman these past 6 years! And then the stars came out and wow! Ayla is located away from other camps, uses solar power, and is located not too deep into Wahiba - making it accessible, wonderfully quiet and with no light pollution. And just when you think you’ve experienced it all and climb into bed smiling and full of joy - the afternoon sun has kindly warmed your bed and the high-quality, high-thread cotton offers a warm hug on the cool evening for the best night’s sleep. Sunrise brings more discovery as the birds, goats, camels awaken and start their day around you. Snuggled up with a hot drink watching the world wake up in this vast stillness. Lifetime memories were made and I am thankful to the team at Atana for taking such great care of me and my sister. Definitely recommended.

A recently renovated campground located in Bidiyah, Milky Way Domes features barbecue facilities. The property was built in 2023 and features air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a ski equipment rental service is also available. I have been to a lot of places in my life already and this is by far the most unique ever. I am definitely coming back. The owner is really friendly and we had a nice and cozy evening together with the other guests! And we saw the Milky Way!

For those times when you'd rather not dine out, you can choose to cook on the barbecue. Hamad and Hassan were very funny and sweet. We had a lovely time by the fire. Hassan cooked great food for dinner and breakfast. Good value compared with some other places considering dinner and breakfast is included. Room is very comfy, we slept great. Good location, feels very cosy. Hamad is Bedouin and he has some beautiful artefacts to show you and talk about. Make sure you bring cash to pay.

At the campground, all units include bed linen and towels. Our experience at Safari Glamping was really amazing. We tried a lot of delicious traditional food, rented quad bike from a nearby camp, which is owned by the same person, and he invited us for a dinner at this bigger camp, where we had the opportunity to speak with him about his life as a beduin. The host in our camp was really nice and helpful, prepared fire and a really good food for us and as we were lucky to be alone there, we had a chance to speak with him. The room was really clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We drove to the camp by our 4WD car and it was simple and without any problem. You just need to have your tires deflated beforehand. 100% recommended experience worth the money.

Many thanks to everyone as you made our experience in desert very unforgettable! Here it was the best Omani coffee which we've ever had during our trip! Camp is very nice. Tents are big enough, very clean, each has its own clean (!) toilet and hot shower. Nice common shelter. We arrived after sunset, left our car near the petrol station as suggested by camp and camp's driver brought us to camp. They offer this service if you are not ready to drive in sands. Communication was very effective. Me and my friend, 2 girls, were only guests in the camp for that night but we were welcomed very good. We had very good and delicious dinner as well as breakfast in the morning. We were welcomed very warm and feel ourselves safe. All the team were very kind! Don't bring any food with you as desert mice would disturb you all the night. Next morning we met sunrise on the top of closest dune (just walked by ourselves), had amazing breakfast and took 3hrs tour in desert. It was nice drive through dunes, visited nomad house, saw a lot of camels. There is WIFI in the camp but it also can be considered as drawback :)
