Charming, cozy, relaxing in quiet area of the island. Very tasty food. Hospitable owners seems like an old friends :)

The „ecohouse“ is a special and hidden treasure on the wonderful compound, very close to the beach in kizimkazi. The lovely style of the old materials in a fresh renovated condition was exactly our taste. Simplicity on its best. Selma is a worm host and the breakfast is close to a garden ceremony with good fruits and enough to eat. The village itself seemed to us peaceful. Tourists are not yet overehelming the traditional lifestyle. The fishermen and the beaching till sunset go well along. We regretted that we couldn’t stay longer.

We had a great time at the lodge. The room was nice and the bathroom was bug. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed the pool and the yoga area. Wifi works well. Totally recommend.

If you need to unwind in one of this Planets most beautiful spots and aren't too hung up on luxury, this place is for you. I had a great time and truly appreciated the kind, honest and helpful hosts, Sarah and Omi and their lovely children. Simply the best host family you could imagine. Also I enjoyed the food cooked and grilled by Sarah and Omi. Fresh Kingfish, Barracuda and Dorado. But what really knocked my socks off was Omis charcoal grilled octopus. Oh, and the breakfast is great. Good coffee, fantastic mango fruit, chapati bread, eggs and some variation from day to day, wich is not something you should expect in all Zanzibari hotels. Oh, and did I mention that from the fine terrace you step right into the Indian Ocean. And 500 yds to the west lies about 50 fishing dhows at their buys. An hour before sunset is a good time to enjoy the fleet sailing into the sundown. I had binoculars and a cold sundowner beer ready.. About noon the tide comes in and its time for swimming. You can get dolphin and snorkeling tours from the nearby village that also has some good and laid-back restaurants. There is no AC but a good fan in the room. I found that to be sufficient. I believe I'll go again January next and take my wife with me. I think it would also be a great place for young families with children.

It's a very lovely, simple place with a nice garden, love for details and superb breakfast.

Location couldn't have been better. Right over the sea and with the best beach in Zanzibar just for yourself if you wake up early. That you must do it, to not miss an unforgettable sunrise just from your bed. All the staff was just amazing.

Breakfast was delicious with eggs to order. Rooms were spacious with fantastic bathroom. Self catering facility was top notch with many relaxation areas in our villa and by the 2 pools. Beautifully maintained gardens which gives a lot of privacy. Great host, Paula and her friendly staff. Loved the stay.

I immediately knew from the photos that I wanted to stay here. This was my third stop on a two week solo trip in the south of Zanzibar The morning coffee on the private terrace, the fresh and clean pool, the comfortable sunbeds and the beautiful beach. Everything is so nice and the Mango House is very quiet and intimate with only nine guest rooms creating a close atmosphere. Note that if you like a more quiet place, Jambiani or Paje are typical tourist spots and might not be for you. I travelled off season but there are still alot of people around, and it can be a bit noisy in the mornings/nights, if you care about that. The breakfast is really good with a good menu to choose from. The dinner menu is also nice. The dinner was a little hit and miss, but that was my experience all over Zanzibar. One dish youbreally like can be "just ok" the next day. The chicken curry was my favorite. Beth and Dullah har created a very beautiful little oasis of good energy, and if you feel drawn to this place it is probably a sign that you should pay them a visit. They (Beth, Dullad and the rest of the staff) are super warm, friendly and inclusive and they are all very attentive to your needs without ever being pushy. I had several nice and interesting conversations with Beth during my six nights and Mango House. I was unlucky enough to get sick on my last day (when I was supposed to leave) and ended up with a short hospital stay. Being alone, sick and so far away from home felt a little scary but Beth and Dullah took great care of me and made sure I got to the hospital and that I had a bed and safe people around me when I got back as I wasn't able to leave that day even if my stay was actually over. Beth has even been checking up on me for days after I left to make sure I felt better and got home safely. I really recommend this to anyone thinking about visiting Zanzibar.

What really sets this place apart is the incredibly kind and attentive staff — everyone we met was warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. The manager was especially thoughtful and engaged, making sure everything ran smoothly and that guests felt truly looked after. The hotel also has a fantastic beachside bar and restaurant just a short stroll away — perfect for enjoying a meal or drink with a view of the ocean and your feet in the sand. The food was absolutely delicious — the tuna tartare, in particular, was unforgettable!

We had such a great stay at Kobe House. Our rooms were great (apartment and balcony room) and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I had a good amount of hanging space in the apartment and the fridge was awesome. The breakfast does vary a bit which was nice and you can have leftovers in the afternoon by the pool as a little snack. Ibrahim always brought us something, also a coconut once. Without asking I was given a bigger pillow and Maryam even got up our last morning at 3am and saw us off. Also thanks again to Kevin for sorting out a light problem in my room without me having to move. We felt well looked after. I'd definitely stay at Kobe house again.
