We had a wonderful night in Yamanashi prefecture. We booked the hotel as it was our anniversary and we were visiting some vineyards in the area. Being from the UK we did not know what to expect and the view from the hotel terrace of Mount Fuji blew us away. The amazing staff, who were just the most friendly of our 3 week trip, showed us to our room and we had been upgraded to a suite. It was by far the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in and absolutely huge for a Japanese hotel. The best part was that we got a perfect view of Mount Fuji from our bedroom. A spectacular treat. We ate in the hotel and had a set Japanese meal which was delicious. We practiced our Japanese as all the staff spoke little to no English, but they tried so hard to help us and were amazing. The next morning we had a nice breakfast while watching a film crew make a movie on the terrace. An added bonus. We wished we could have stayed longer and our amazing reception lady even helped us to our car with our massive suitcases. The stay really exemplified Japanese warmth and hospitality. I wish I had taken names so I could mention them personally. We were made to feel so special and it was explained to us that not many British tourists visit them and the region. I can tell you that everyone should explore beyond the main cities, as the wine is great, the countryside splendid and the Fuji views (if you're lucky like we were and got a sunny day) were breathtaking. A true highlight of our trip. Thank you everyone.

First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

The place was huge for our family. The rooms were also comfortable for our stay. The house also had everything well stocked up! We had some difficulties locating the key but thankfully we could communicate in chinese with the owner and managed to get ourselves in soon after. We had also left some clothes behind and the owner was very kind to send it over to us at our next location in Japan. We received it within 2 days! Thank you for the memorable stay!

Our stay at Zen & Bed was absolutely exceptional in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in a serene and unique atmosphere that blends traditional hospitality with profound cultural experiences. We also participated in a Zazen meditation session, which was both professional and insightful. The monk guiding the session was incredibly patient and attentive, using a translation app to ensure clear communication while answering all our questions thoughtfully. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully designed, reflecting the minimalist and elegant aesthetics of Japanese culture. Both the vegetarian dinner and breakfast were outstanding—delicious, carefully prepared, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that enhanced the spiritual experience. In the evening, we enjoyed a relaxing soak in a nearby onsen, which was the perfect way to unwind and complement our stay. The next morning, the monk gave us an insightful tour of the temple, sharing fascinating stories about Buddhism, temple life, and the history of the site. If you're looking for a genuinely authentic, immersive, and deeply enriching Japanese experience, this is the perfect place. A perfect blend of spirituality, culture, and traditional hospitality—highly recommended!

I had a great stay! I mistakenly went to the wrong property branch by following google maps which was like a 20-mins walk away . When I called them, the manager himself came to pick me up by his car to drop me at the right place. The facilities were more than sufficient for a solo traveller to rest for a night and the building was so lovely with a cozy, traditional Japanese touch.
