I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at El Cerrito and I had the most amazing time there. Lis and Dan were so welcoming and the cabin was really comfortable and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. I saw all kinds of wildlife there - monkeys, tucans, macaws, iguanas, frogs, humming birds, butterflies and sloths. It really felt like being in the jungle but with all the comforts of home. I was originally planning on doing a tour in Corcovado but I ended up doing a tour here with local guides instead and I'm so happy that I did. I got to see so many animals at a fraction of the price of what I would have paid at Corcovado. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future!

Loubnan is such a lovely host and did everything to make us happy. There is a big community area with a kitchen and a fridge. Perfect to stay a few days and explore the beautiful Osa Peninsula.

My girlfriend and me had three wonderful days here. This cute little hut is located right in the cozy village of Doz Brazos. Nature is all around around you: If you like that (and don’t mind seeing one or the other bug), you’ll love this place. Animals we saw and heard were chickens, cows, lots of cute dogs and even a Tucan in the distance! And regularly, some hummingbirds visited us while we had breakfast on the terrace. The house itself has a kitchen and a semi-open structure. The walls for example don’t go all the way up, which probably helped the airflow & was the reason why we could sleep without a fan. There were fans in our bedroom & the main room. Our bedroom was lockable from the inside, the other bedroom had a curtain instead of a door, but that would’ve been fine for us as well. Honestly speaking, we were a bit skeptical upon our arrival. But this skepticism quickly went away due to these factors: First of all, because of our hosts. The family lives right next to the hut and was super welcoming, nice and helpful. During our first breakfast, they even brought us a nice welcoming snack! With all the kindness, they still left us plenty of privacy. Another reason were our temporary “flatmates“, another couple that came for a day and moved into the room with the curtain. They were very kind as well & we had some nice conversations on the terrace. Last but definitely not least is the initial reason why we booked this place: Access to the Bolita rainforest trails. Since the owners work at the Bolita rainforest hostel, free access (without any guides) to these beautiful hiking trails through the jungle was granted. Though I imagine, we would’ve seen more animals if we had an Costa Rican with eagle eyes with us! Luckily, Carlos, one of the owners, offers guidance (only Spanish though). Very soon, we felt very comfortable and happy to be in such a remote, authentic & beautiful place (just check out the garden photos!) with so many nice people.

The best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Dario and Frederica have set up something special here in Dos Brazos, near the Corcovado National Park. Set in the heart of the jungle, in a lovely small Gold Mining village this beautiful guest house is a fantastic place to stay. Great welcome, the most comfortable bed, shower and space of our trip so far. A lovely fresh breakfast, great self catering facilities (but Frederica is a chef and will cook your dinner). Watching the jungle birds from their deck was a true joy. They went out of their way to book us a guide for a day exploring the jungle - a shout out to Jose who was a brilliant tour guide to the jungle. He grew up in the village, was fantastically knowledgeable about animals, history and Costa Rican life. Speaking excellent English. He is also a great artist - get him to show you the furniture he makes. Dos Brazos is also worth a mention such a lovely little village, the residents there welcomed guests so warmly, everyone we met had a smile and hola. Try the homemade ice creams advertised from small house! Perfect treat after a hot walk. La Casita means little house, but this is a little house with a big heart thanks to Dario and Frederica’s love and attention to detail. Loved the authentic accommodation. On the doorstep to all the nature and wildlife you dream of.Kerley and family were wonderful hosts and are passionate about what they do.Very good value, bedrooms were clean with a simple ensuite bathroom but you had everything you needed.The kitchen was very impressive so it was very easy to prepare your own food.if you wanted to..Loved the verandah .We went on bird trips with Kerley, and he looked after us really well.Got some amazing birds and animals and learned plenty from him

The history of the place is amazing: a gold rush time village bar, that used to have also a brothel and jail (now restroom and shower). Suzanne has created a very cozy place with a wide common area and different sorts of accommodations. It was fun talking and sharing experiences with her aswell as other visitors. The place has a nice wibe and Blue Morpho butterflies flying in the yard. We went on Matapalo and night tours with Shanny - they were both a great experience.

Absolutely loved it here! As soon as I arrived I was greeted with big smiles and kindness from the staff. They are relaxed, helpful, fun and just really good people. Room was great! Bed comfy. I loved how the hotel had different zones so you can either be social or find a quiet area to chill. Shared kitchen was super clean, spacious and very well organized. Lots of surfboards for rent. Beach about 50m away, a few cafes / restaurants close, as well as the mini market store. 100% will be back! Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks for a great time Hotel Swell....
