I have travelled all over the world using Booking.com, including many boutique-type hotels. It is rare that a hotel exceeds my expectations in every respect. This one did. This hotel is a relatively new, well-situated hotel in the heart of the old town, Cartagena. We asked for a quiet room, and received one. The only disadvantage with the room was that windows did not look out on anything and that they were sealed, but the room was relatively quiet in a very noisy city. To have a balcony room with openable windows means a lot of noise at night in Cartagena. We preferred to sleep! The room we had was equipped with a comfortable king-size bed, lots of room and a very good bathroom, complete with a large shower and a Japanese toilet (which is relatively rare in my experience). We initially had some difficulty with the TV, but staff rectified the problem quickly. The AC worked well and the room is equipped with a ceiling fan if one prefers to use it- we used both. The design of the hotel, including the finishes, demonstrates a well-thought out, professional team was involved. I was particularly impressed by the overall design of the common areas of the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The pool on level 4 is small but adequate for cooling down in a hot city. The hotel offers massage services. The companion hotel (Hotel Boutique Casona del Colegio) is available for meals and has a larger pool; it is located only 150 metres away, which is very convenient. For the cost, this hotel is a very good choice, allowing one to walk all over the old town and neighboring areas. Assuming that the hotel maintains its service standards and keeps its facilities in good condition, this is a hotel that I recommend without reservation.

Sofitel Barú Cartagena is een accommodatie met 5 sterren tegenover het strand in Cartagena met heeft een buitenzwembad, een fitnessruimte en een restaurant. Prachtig resort, het is erg groot maar het voelde heel intiem omdat je overal verschillende plekjes hebt binnen het complex. Fijn strand, heerlijke kamer (ik zou die met seaview aanbevelen) en alles was goed geregeld. Housekeeping was niet normaal goed (ze komen 2 x per dag!) Ik zou aanbevelen om met de de auto transfer te gaan in plaats van de boot (zee is wild) en de ‘onverharde weg’ waar men over spreekt in andere reviews is echt niet zo erg als men zegt.

Oz Hotel Luxury ligt in Cartagena de Indias, op 150 m van het dichtstbijzijnde strand, en beschikt over accommodatie met airconditioning en een bar. The staff is the first think that I would like to highlight. They were very friendly, professional and always willing to support and make you feel comfortable. We were spending the days before and after our wedding at this hotel and they support us, provided us a spacious room, the cleanliness was very good. The comfort of both the bed and the pillows were just remarkable, extremely comfortable. They gave us a bonus to claim a lunch because of the length of our stay, which was a nice and unexpected touch. It is well connected to beach on Bocagrande and Castillo grande on walking distance.

Islawa Soy Local - Isla Privada heeft een tuin, een terras, een restaurant en een bar in Barú. Prachtige ligging! Leuk dat je vanuit Barú opgehaald wordt met een bootje en voordat je aankomt door de mooie mangrove vaart.

Shekinah House ligt op 6 minuten lopen van Marbella Beach en 1,3 km van stadsmuren van Cartagena, en is voorzien van kamers met airconditioning en een eigen badkamer in Cartagena. I had a great stay! The staff were very kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The place was clean and well maintained, and the location was perfect — the city center was easy to reach. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
