I really enjoyed my stay in this accommodation in Jauja. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The shower had good, hot running water with good water pressure, which is not a given in all hotels in this area. But the greatest asset of Hotel Virrey is the family running it. These people are super friendly and accommodating. When we asked how to get to the city center from the hotel (which is a 10 min. walk), the owner offered to take us there by car and showed us the sights. When we needed a taxi to take us to Jauja airport next morning at 4.45 AM (!), the owner insisted that he take us there himself. So if you are looking for a nice, family-run place to stay in Jauja, I can really recommend this hotel

Perfect location, just two blocks south of the main pedestrian pathway that leads straight to the plaza. There’s not too much to see north of the plaza so being at the south end is perfect. Very hot water! Great Wi-Fi.
