But our request to cancel with waived fees was ignored (that’s the bad part). So we went anyways. And while it’s true that at some places you can see that the hotel is old, it’s still OK and charming and the personnel basically bent over backwards to make the stay pleasant.

The property was beautiful and had amazing rooms and interesting and beautiful decor throughout - it reminded you of a Swiss Cottage with the cute curtains and the room had two amazing balconies to enjoy the stunning view over the lake. So many windows everywhere to make sure you got incredible views of the lake all around the building - we particularly loved the huge windows in the restaurant that gave incredible views and was a lovely place to sit and relax. The staff were amazing and so genuinely kind and helpful and really cared. The extra touches of hot water bottle in your bed at night and coming to light the huge fire place to make the room really cozy - were amazing too and really appreciated
