Location-wise, there are a few station around, but the closest one is 7 mins walk (Tenmabashi station - purple line). It's also only 15 mins walk to Osaka castle, so we took a little walk there on the first day while waiting for check-in time. The hotel itself is right by the river, so it's a lovely walk to and from other places. Also, it's only 10 mins walk to an area called Tenjinbashi with shops and some great food restaurants. The staff are of great help; they're all super nice and helpful. They even sent us a message to tell us to take care since it might get cold. Very solicitous hosts for sure. The place is spotless and there's a view of the river in the front, so quite lovely and bright.

I really enjoyed my stay at Patina Osaka. The staff were warm and attentive, and everything from check-in to breakfast flowed smoothly. The interiors are calm, understated, and thoughtfully designed. As a music lover, I especially appreciated the vinyl-themed lounge and the dedicated listening room — a rare and special feature that adds a lot of character. A unique and relaxing place to stay.

Gallery Compass felt like home away from home in Higashiosaka! It's a standard apartment space, maybe a 1LDK (?). It has a separate bedroom, a living room with tatami, a dining area and wonderfully equipped kitchen! They have a dishwasher! (We only stayed for a night so we didn't cook.) For a group of 5, we fit comfortably in the apartment - 3 friends slept in the living room with futons provided and my husband and I slept in the bedroom. There was enough space for everyone to hang out together and to go into for privacy. We loved how clean and tidy the space was, and for the price of our stay for one night was very well worth it! The closest station (Yaenosato) is 5 min walk away. Convenient! Our hosts were very prompt with communication - all in Japanese, but that can be easily translated on an app!. The day before, I had asked the hosts if we could come by early to leave our luggage and check in later at the listed time. They were very gracious to allow us to check in at the time we came to leave our things. This is not the usual policy with most accommodations I had stayed in, so I was pleasantly surprised! Our host met us at the front of the building when we didn't really know where to look. He let us in the apartment and gave us the keys. With the help of a translator app, my broken Nihongo and gestures, we could communicate! We covered all the basic house rules and decided what time breakfast will be the next morning. They had signs displayed with some English too (eg.: don't fold the futon and put it back in the closet on the day you're leaving). Then our lovely hostess made breakfast for us. It was served at the café at the ground floor. It was a lovely, light meal of salad, scrambled eggs and bacon, served with either coffee or tea. We also got 2 rounds of toast with butter! Will definitely stay here again when we come visit Osaka again!
