We lived in a historic house next to the church. The host is the local artist who produces faces on rocks which you can see everywhere in Husafell. It was a great stay with a delicious breakfast (especially the traditional Havragrautur). And Pall even offered a soup in the evening. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

What a great place, staying here is an experience in itself and Saemi is a fantastic ambassador for Iceland! He creates the experience with his generous catering and bringing fellow travellers together: 10 of us of different nationalities getting along so well together and Saemi giving us insights into life in Iceland. Having read reviews of "Gamli Baer" we wanted to come here to experience it and it exceeded expectation!

Staying in this rural, picturesque guesthouse was an amazing experience. The host Seymour was so service minded and welcoming. He made us a lovely dinner and breakfast with local specialities. The view was fantastic and the trail close by. We felt spoiled throughout the visit. A quaint guesthouse that I strongly recommend.

The property location is wonderful. It is quintessential Iceland which is why so many artists have stayed there over the years. The main attraction is the heartfelt welcome from the host. His open table, hearty soup and fantastic waffles. The views from the hot tub are sensational. Accommodation is basic, comfortable and extremely clean. This isn’ a 5* hotel. Don’t expect room service or a spa.

Definitely a special place to stay. The owner made us dinner and a classic icelandic breakfast which was incredible. The hot tub was lovely and the traditionally designed rooms made me feel like I went back in time. 100 % recommend if you are in West Iceland.

Staff was very helpful, nice and easy to communicate with. The service in the swimming pool was excellent, you can order drinks and they service them to the pool for you. The surroundings are beautiful and you have a view to the mountains from all areas of the hotel. I have been going to Húsafell for over 40 years but htis was my first stay at the hotel and I will be back
