Hotel Puntanorte features a garden, private beach area, a restaurant and bar in Tintipan Island. Certain units at the property feature a terrace with a sea view. Amazing place. Way better and bigger than what pictures show, with many cozy nooks for those who need some privacy. It’s definitely not a party place. It’s calm and serene, thank God no blasting music and noisy crowds! Just the sound of the waves. Owners treated us like family members, they are awesome and open people. Don’t miss short snorkeling and plankton tours! Price is fair and they’re totally worth it. If you don’t have masks for snorkeling, you can rent them there. Oh, and I didn’t mention food! Try everything in their menu, Yeimy is an outstanding cook. I especially recommend the crab and prawns with maracuyá. Some things to consider: - It’s a remote place, there is no signal. There’s WiFi only at the restaurant. - Rooms are basic and simple, no hot water, no lockers, no aircons, you even can’t lock the door. There is a fan in every room but we almost didn’t use it, nights aren’t that hot. - Guest rooms get energy from solar panels only at night. Electricity is off all day long, but you can charge your gadgets at the restaurant area. Fully charged powerbank will be useful. None of that was a problem for us, we spent 4 fantastical days there and definitely will come back.

Providing garden views, ECOHOTEL LAS FLORES Econativo in Isla Grande provides accommodation, a garden and a terrace. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and bathrobes. Do not expect luxury. This is a great alternative to the expensive hotels in the area. It’s a short walk to some small beaches and a 20 minute walk to playa escondida and playa libre. Getting off the “tourist trap” path is exactly what we needed. In town you will find affordable sea food and a lovely community. The owners were lovely and they had a fun parrot. The room was gorgeous and equipped with fans and a mosquito net. Maria greeted us with a coconut when we arrived. She cooks really well. Just talk to her in advance when you want food and she’s happy to cook for you.
