So far the best stay in Sri Lanka. It is a basic accommodation in the middle of the nature. The host and her husband spent more than 1 our with us searching for sleeping birds. I got some great shots. They searched with us in a book for the names of all the birds. Sunrise is stunning to watch right out of the balcony. You can walk around the lake and see so many birds, crocodiles etc. Just the people on the street who wants to offer you a guided tour where a bit annoying, but this has nothing to do with the accommodation. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. Initially we booked this stay to do the Yala Safari, but because we already saw all the animals in other parcs, we asked his advice what to do. He gave us a few options, all with a good price. We did a tuk tuk tour to "the elephant road" & Katharagama Temple complex The stay itself is very cosy, hygienic, breath taking views & quiet environment. Breakfast itself is worth going there as well as the evening meals. His wife and he cook delicious meals!

Ease of checking in. Really lovely owner. Bed was comfortable. Hot shower and strong pressure. Very nice swimming pool in the garden. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. It’s located just over 1km from the town so it’s a short Tuk Tuk drive away!

We stayed at the new Villa. That was perfect for family since it’s huge two story villa and has a private pool. Initially I was bit nervous because there were almost no information about this villa. But we recognized that’s because this facility opened in the end of this month (Dec. 2024). Once my family arrived at this villa, we were immediately fascinated by this villa and great hospitality of the staff. I can recommend this although the gramping camp sites should be also good. In addition, location is good. We can enjoy game safaris for both Yala National Park and Udawalawe National Park since it’s located between both national parks. Finally, I was very satisfied with the email communication with Ms. Sonali Lowe (Manager - Sales & Reservations) prior to our stay, as it was both prompt and precise.

Lovely room, very good price, and the Safari was excellent. However, best of all was the people. They are very friendly and super welcoming - I tried some of their Curd, it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Shine Park if you are thinking of coming to Yala!
